Fishing in the Icelandic highlands

North wind dominates the weather in Iceland these days so it´s cold in the highlands. Still I went two evenings this week to the highlands with my wife and daughter to fish for arctic char and trout. Can´t say that we were successful but we did get two small trouts and big arctic char got away. When the north wind blows like this the days are usually bright but the temperature is low. Well we still had a nice time in the  highlands. It´s not always about how many fishes you get. Sometimes it´s more about experiencing the nature.

Here are the stories in Icelandic and more images. http://vefurkela.com/index.php/veidhi/53-holmavatn and http://vefurkela.com/index.php/veidhi/54-tangavatn-i-juli-2015

The image below is from lake Tangavatn on Holtavorduheidi in mid- Iceland. The mountain in the middle is glacier Eiriksjokull. The weteher looks nice but the wind was strong and when the sun hid behind a cloud it got cold.
